Help a bride find THE dress

I have a challenge for you, dear readers. I have a bride who is crazy about this gown:

She loves the pleats, the layers of this Marchesa beauty -- and who doesn't?? She would "DIE DIE DIE" if she could get a white version for her wedding (actually, she'd probably take it in just about any color at this point).

There is a catch --well, two catches:

1. The budget is $1,000-$2,000 (Recessionistas! I need you!!)

2. The wedding is in June.

Any ideas?? Places to look, designers to research, or similar gowns to consider? Feel free to post a comment here or email info{at}whiteboxwedding{dot}com.

I am not sure if this would work, but the bottom looks similar. Good luck!

Oh wow, that Marchesa dress is a dream!

Ever since my fiance proposed to me with a gorgeous diamond engagement ring from www.idonowidont.com I've dreamt of looking like a runway bride too with a dress like Eva Langorias.

Maybe a fashion student who has the passion to make something look expensive and made with affordable materials will be able to pull off that design.

Check with Brandi's Bridals. I was there over the summer, and tried on a clearance gown that was around $1,000 (originally over $5,000). It had similar pleating around the top and bottom of the dress, but the back didn't dip like the Marchesa. The one distinctive thing about the dress at Brandi's was that there were ostrich feathers on it - so before you drive out there, maybe you should call and ask about the dress with the feathers. (don't worry - the feathers aren't out of control, nor really noticeable.)

Monica, Have you tried the local seamstresses? Judith Ann Designs or MK Rhapsody or Becky would be able to make this dress for sure. Not sure about budget, but it's possible to hit with the right fabrics.

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for your comments and emails. My bride is extremely appreciative. She is in fact going to seek assistance from one of our dressmakers, if only because of the tight time frame.

Thanks for reading!
