A new tag

I've been tagged by Kawania at Howerton+Wooton Events. You'll find my previous responses to this game here and here. There's a new twist to this tag, thanks to Saundra at Planning Forever. Now I am to share five songs that I'm embarrassed to admit I like. Here are the rules:

1. Link to the person that tagged you and post the rules on your blog.
2. Share 5 songs you are embarrassed to admit to others you like and tell why.
3. Tag 7 random people at the end of your post and include links to their blogs.
4. Let each person know that they have been tagged by leaving a comment on their blog.

Let me begin by saying that I can appreciate almost every kind of music. When I saw that I had been tagged this morning, I couldn't think of anything that was truly embarrassing (I'll spare you from my list of broadway show tunes and favorite songs from musicals). Then I thought, if a person I didn't know very well got into my car, what songs would I shut off immediately? I came up with some that I was almost too ashamed to post, but isn't that the point?

1. Gonna Fly Now (Theme from Rocky)
I'm being laughed at as I type this. But you have to understand, I was in kickboxing for a good portion of my childhood and young teen years, even with a short-lived dream of fighting in the ring one day. If I could talk myself into working out again, this song would be necessary in making that happen.

2. She's a Lady - Tom Jones
This is one of my power songs. I asked one of my assistants if this song is embarrassing. The look on her face told me that I needed to include it on this list.

3. Hot Rod Lincoln - Commander Cody and the Lost Planet Airmen
Oh man, this one is particularly embarrassing because I know all the words. I blame my dad. I would never have heard this song in the first place if it wasn't for him, and I certainly wouldn't like it.

4. Ghetto Superstar - Mya
I don't know any of the words, but I know they're just bad. The only part I know is Mya's and I like to sing it with her.

5. Changes - Tupac
And I dare to call myself a conservative! This is my most embarrassing confession of them all. Again, I don't know the words, but I know enough to know they're probably racist, sexist, raunchy, and a whole lot worse. But I really like the sound -- the piano, the beat -- it sounds beautiful to me.

Saundra, you're right. It IS hard to stop. Judge me if you will, but I know everyone reading this has a list just as bad as mine.

So, it's time to share YOUR list. I tag the following people:

M Three Studio
With This Ring
Front Room Photography
Classic Bride
Our Wedding Plus
Mindy Weiss

I JUST told Kate yesterday that you liked Changes when it came on the radio. We were laughing it up. Good choices, very representative of your strange affinity to the random.
